ENG: Encontrado y Perdido grapples with the origins of folk art in Mexico and the U.S. state of New Mexico. Through visual works that demonstrate both literally and allegorically the history of its roots and traditional use, the work produced during this residency explores the cultural crossovers that constitute the origins of folk art, and the evolving nature of this ancient, ever-changing medium.

ESP: Encontrado y Perdido juega con los orígenes del arte popular de México y del estado norteamericano de Nuevo México. A través de obras plásticas que demuestran tanto literal como alegóricamente la historia de sus raíces y de su uso tradicional, el trabajo realizado en esta residencia, indaga en los cruces culturales que constituyen los orígenes del arte popular, y el carácter evolutivo de este medio antiguo, en constante cambio.
